The 300E was a popular model from German car maker Mercedes Benz that was made equally a coupe and as a sedan. The fuel filter on the 300E should exist replaced every xx,000 to xxx,000 miles depending on the atmospheric condition in which the car is driven. If it is driven in dusty, dry weather condition the fuel filter may need to be changed more oft. Replacing a 300E fuel filter is quite easy, since it is located nether the rear of the motorcar and is easily accessed.
Step 1
Elevator the rear of the vehicle with a flooring jack and lower it onto a pair of jack stands. Under the machine, betwixt the right (passenger-side) rear tire and the fuel tank is a plastic cover that conceals and protects the 300E's fuel filter.
Step 2
Remove the plastic nuts that hold the panel on with a socket and a ratchet or a wrench. Remove the console and set it aside.
Step 3
Place a pair of locking pliers on the fuel lines where they come out of the either end of the filter so that they squeeze the lines shut. This is to foreclose fuel from coming out when the filter is removed. Y'all can also use rags between the jaws of the pliers to protect the lines.
Step four
Loosen the hose clamps that hold the fuel lines to the fuel filter with a screwdriver. Pull the lines off the filter by twisting and simultaneously pulling on them. Loosen the bolt or nut that tightens the filter to the filter bracket. Remove the filter and discard it.
Wipe upwardly any spilled fuel with a rag. Install the new filter into the bracket, ensuring that the arrow is pointing towards the engine cease of the car and away from the tank. Install the fuel lines and tighten the hose clamps. Remove the locking pliers from the fuel lines. Lower the car to the ground.
